Hurricane Flossie To Be or Not To Be

I am going to go with not to be. Hurricane Flossie has had winds up to 135 mph. It is going to pass Maui on Wednesday if it does not stall. Expected winds with wind speeds of 74 to 96 mph. It should pass with in 70 miles of Maui if it does not change direction.
In 1992 we were all holding our breath with Hurricane Iniki. When it pass Maui I remember going to Wailea to surf some left over hurricane swells in front of the Wailea Ekahi. We ran into Victor and Gerry Lopez legendary surfer. He told us it was going off and we ended up scoring some really good surf.
Not so good for Kauai. It ended up thrashing the island and serious property damage. That is one reason I prefer owning Maui real estate. In the last 100 years there has not been a reported hurricane hitting Maui. My theory is the winds push off the Big Island and Haleakala, which are 10,000 elevations. During the pass couple hurricanes the winds have gone completely still on Maui’s north shore.
So my pick is Maui real estate is a winner. If your looking for Maui real estate Paia or the north shore Maui real estate your in good hands. To check Maui Real Estate Paia click on this link.
