Wailea Maui is raining at last!
I am sitting at the up desk in The shops at Wailea at our main office at The Wailea Group .I look up and it is just pouring rain. It has been really dry for months. Wailea is actually desert area but with all the irrigation it is always lush and green. With five world class golf courses they are kept in top shape and looking good it reminds me of sound of music with the rolling green hills. Actually in the evening you will sometimes see deer coming down to the golf courses to dine on the greens and half an afternoon drink. Wailea has been busy with the tourist industry.
We have a few clebs in town Sugar Ray Leonard and one of the main actors from White Chicks with the Wayman Brothers who played Terrell; By the way it is a really funny movie if you did not see it. So I am sitting here writing an offer on one of our projects and really enjoying a fresh rain. The north shore which is the rainy side of the island and my home for over 30 years has been real dry. I have had to bring in mulch for my fruit trees and tropical flowers to keep them healthy. So it’s a great day on Maui and I am loving the rain.

So with airfare prices increasing due to the price of oil going up and up. This has slowed down the amount of travelers, especially for families visiting Maui. So the hotel industry has been offering a few pretty attractive deals. I heard that the Four-Season and The Grand Wailea Hotel and Spa are offering additional days for free to entice visitors to come to Maui. This is like the old days when the hotels use to offer Kamaina prices to the locals. So you might want to check with the hotels for these great packages offers. With the discounts I do believe this will offset airfare and make traveling affordable again.
